مؤسسة ثقافية عراقية وُلدت في بغداد عام 2003، وتُقيم منذ 2012 «مهرجان بابل للثقافات العالمية» على أرض بابل الأثرية، حيث يلتقي الشعر والمسرح والموسيقى والفنون من العراق والعالم.An Iraqi cultural institution born in Baghdad in 2003. Since 2012 it has staged the Babylon Festival for International Cultures in ancient Babylon, where the poetry, theatre, music and art of Iraq and the world meet.

عن المؤسسةAbout us

افتُتحت المؤسسة في بغداد في الأول من آب 2003 باسم «مؤسسة بلاد النهرين الثقافية». اليوم نقيم مهرجان بابل للثقافات العالمية كل عام، ونفتح بيتنا التراثي في شارع أبي نؤاس للأمسيات كل أسبوع، وننشر الكتب في دار بابل، ولنا مركز ثقافي في زيورخ.The Foundation opened in Baghdad on 1 August 2003 as the Mesopotamia Cultural Foundation. Today we run the Babylon Festival for International Cultures every year, open our heritage house on Abu Nuwas Street for evenings every week, publish books through Babylon House, and run a cultural centre in Zurich.

أسّس الشاعر الدكتور علي الشلاه «مهرجان بابل للثقافات العالمية» عام 2011، وانطلقت دورته الأولى عام 2012 على مسرح بابل الأثري، وهو اليوم أكبر لقاء ثقافي دولي على أرض بابل وشعاره «كلنا بابليون».The poet Dr Ali Al-Shallah founded the Babylon Festival for International Cultures in 2011. Its first edition opened in 2012 on the ancient Babylon theatre, and today it is the largest international cultural gathering in Babylon, under the motto "We are all Babylonians".

مقرّنا في الحلة، ولنا في بغداد بيت تراثي مرمَّم على شارع أبي نؤاس يحتضن أنشطة أسبوعية وشهرية. ويتبع المؤسسة «المركز الثقافي العربي السويسري» في زيورخ و«مهرجان المتنبي العالمي».We are based in Hillah, with a restored heritage house on Abu Nuwas Street in Baghdad that hosts weekly and monthly events. The Arab-Swiss Cultural Center in Zurich and the Al-Mutanabbi International Festival are also part of the Foundation.

تسعة أيام على أرض بابل الأثرية، يلتقي فيها شعراء وفنانون ومفكرون من العراق والعالم، على مسرح بابل الذي أعاد فريق المهرجان إليه الحياة.Nine days in ancient Babylon, where poets, artists and thinkers from Iraq and around the world meet on the Babylon theatre, brought back to life by the festival team.

    لقاء سنوي على أرض بابل الأثرية منذ 2012: شعر ومسرح وموسيقى وسينما وفنون وندوات، بضيوف من العراق والعالم العربي وأوروبا وآسيا.A yearly gathering in ancient Babylon since 2012: poetry, theatre, music, cinema, art and talks, with guests from Iraq, the Arab world, Europe and Asia.

  2. بيت بابل في أبي نؤاسBabylon House on Abu Nuwas

    بيت تراثي بغدادي رمّمناه ليكون صالوناً مفتوحاً: أمسيات شعرية، ندوات فكرية، توقيع كتب، وتكريم المبدعين، كل أسبوع وكل شهر.A Baghdadi heritage house we restored as an open salon: poetry evenings, talks, book signings and tributes to creators, every week and every month.

  3. إصدارات دار بابلBabylon House publications

    كتب عن تاريخ الحلة وبابل وتراثهما، وأنطولوجيات شعرية، وترجمات من العربية وإليها بالتعاون مع شركائنا في سويسرا.Books on the history and heritage of Hillah and Babylon, poetry anthologies, and translations to and from Arabic with our partners in Switzerland.

  4. جسور مع العالمBridges to the world

    «المركز الثقافي العربي السويسري» في زيورخ و«مهرجان المتنبي العالمي» يحملان الثقافة العراقية والعربية إلى أوروبا، ويأتيان بأوروبا إلى بابل.The Arab-Swiss Cultural Center in Zurich and the Al-Mutanabbi International Festival carry Iraqi and Arab culture to Europe, and bring Europe to Babylon.

تغيّر اسم المؤسسة مرتين منذ تأسيسها. هذه أهم محطاتها.The Foundation has changed its name twice since it began. These are the main milestones.

  1. 2003

    «مؤسسة بلاد النهرين الثقافية»Mesopotamia Cultural Foundation

    افتُتحت في بغداد، شارع المغرب، في الأول من آب 2003. ومن أولى مبادراتها مشروع دعم المكتبات: عشرات آلاف الكتب لمكتبات جامعتي بغداد والمستنصرية واتحاد الأدباء، وإعادة لوحات «متحف الروّاد» إلى وزارة الثقافة.Opened on Al-Maghrib Street, Baghdad, on 1 August 2003. Among its first initiatives was a library support project: tens of thousands of books for the libraries of the universities of Baghdad and Al-Mustansiriya and the Iraqi Writers Union, and the return of the Pioneers Museum paintings to the Ministry of Culture.

  2. 2011

    «دار بابل للثقافات والفنون والإعلام»Babylon House for Cultures, Arts and Media

    مقرّ رئيسي في الحلة، وبيت تراثي مرمَّم على شارع أبي نؤاس في بغداد. وفي العام نفسه وُلدت فكرة «مهرجان بابل للثقافات العالمية».A main office in Hillah and a restored heritage house on Abu Nuwas Street in Baghdad. The same year, the idea of the Babylon Festival for International Cultures was born.

  3. 2012

    الدورة الأولى على مسرح بابلThe first edition on the Babylon theatre

    أعاد فريق المهرجان تأهيل مسرح بابل الأثري (5000 مقعد) ليستقبل جمهوره من جديد، وتجاوز الحضور في ليالي الافتتاح والختام 6000 متفرج في الدورات الأخيرة.The festival team restored the ancient Babylon theatre (5,000 seats) to welcome audiences again; recent editions drew more than 6,000 people to their opening and closing nights.

  4. 2014

    الحياة أقوىLife is stronger

    واجه المهرجان محاولات إرهابية لإيقافه، وتأجّلت دورته الرابعة، لكنه عاد واستمر، وحيّته منظمة اليونسكو برسالتين في دورتيه السادسة والثامنة.The festival faced terrorist attempts to stop it and its fourth edition was postponed, but it came back and carried on; UNESCO sent letters of greeting to its 6th and 8th editions.

    «مؤسسة بابل العالمية للثقافات والفنون»Babylon International Foundation for Culture and Arts

    أنشطة أسبوعية وشهرية في بغداد والحلة، و«المركز الثقافي العربي السويسري» في زيورخ، و«مهرجان المتنبي العالمي»، والاستعداد للدورة الثالثة عشرة من مهرجان بابل.Weekly and monthly events in Baghdad and Hillah, the Arab-Swiss Cultural Center in Zurich, the Al-Mutanabbi International Festival, and preparations for the 13th Babylon Festival.
